The abertis foundation collaborates with the Pasqual Maragall Foundation as part of its commitment to society, the main objective of which is to help the latter continue with the scientific and technological innovation research it is conducting in order to improve the diagnosis, treatment and cure of Alzheimer’s disease and other related neurodegenerative illnesses.

The abertis chair in Puerto Rico is now a reality. The CEO of abertis, Francisco Reynés, signed the agreement with the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) during an event held on the island, in which the head of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Mayagüez Campus (RUM) was appointed director of the chair. Also in attendance were Sergi Loughney, Director of the abertis foundation; Miguel A. Muñoz, President of the University of Puerto Rico, and Jorge Rivera Santos, Rector of the RUM.

abertis participated in the “Second Meeting of Young Ibero-American Leaders”, a conference organised by the Carolina Foundation in Salvador, the capital of the north-eastern Brazilian state of Bahia. Between the 20th and 22nd of September, and under the title The Future: Innovation and Entrepreneurship, 125 young leaders from every Ibero-American country met to speak with various representatives from top Spanish companies.

The “You’ve got one life left. Don’t lose it on the road” campaign, promoted by the abertis foundation in Spain, is now also being implemented in Chile. Laurence Golborne, Minister of Public Works, kicked off the campaign by handing out information leaflets at the Lo Prado toll booth on the Rutas del Pacífico motorway, which is managed by the abertis group. David Díaz, General Manager of abertis autopistas in America and Sergi Loughney, Director of the abertis foundation, were also present.

The abertis foundation, in collaboration with the Integra Foundation, participated in the Jardín Sobre Ruedas (Preschool on Wheels) project which will allow 80 children from rural and isolated areas of Valparaíso, in Chile, to participate in different learning programmes together with their families, generating a rich educational experience.
