abertis, through the abertis foundation and sanef – the Group’s toll road subsidiary in France – is one of the main sponsors of the major Dalí retrospective opening at the Pompidou Centre in Paris today, which will be open to the public until 25 March 2013. It will then move to the Reina Sofía Museum Madrid, where it will remain from 23 April to 2 September 2013.
This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to review the work of Salvador Dalí, as it brings together for the first time works from the three custodians of the Dalí legacy: the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation (Figueres), the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg (Florida) and the Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid), which have all joined forces to offer the public the very best from their collections.
The exhibition is even more exceptional because of the fact that it features works on loan from other leading institutions, such as the MoMA (New York), the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Tate Modern and the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts in Belgium.
This collaboration provides yet another example of the abertis foundation’s commitment to culture, working alongside the most important cultural institutions of the countries in which the Group is present in order to make culture accessible to the general public and help Governments achieve their objectives in this regard. Cultural heritage is thus one of the actions for involvement in the community and the social fabric established by abertis’s Social Responsibility Strategic Plan, in which the company sees culture as an asset that enriches people and improves their quality of life.
