Autopistas del Oeste’s “Zero Vision” road awareness campaign aims to raise awareness in the community about the road hazards they are exposed to every day while driving and how to reduce the traffic accident rate.

The Abertis Foundation today received a 2015 Stela Awards for its commitment to the workplace integration of people with Down’s Syndrome and other disabilities. These awards are conferred by the Down’s Syndrome Foundation of Madrid.

The Abertis Foundation, Barcelona City Council, the Catalan Down Syndrome Foundation, Te-léfonica, and the public transport operator, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, have laun-ched KanGo!, a project to help school children from the neighbourhood of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi (Barcelona) to travel to school alone on public transport. The pilot scheme aims to help school children become more independent, making sure they are safe on their way to school, and winning the trust of both the pupils and their families.

• The Abertis Foundation supports the Guttmann Institute in celebrating its 50th anniversary by helping the Institute develop major scientific and social welfare projects, especially those focused on road safety for the young.

In the current context, as society moves towards a low-carbon future, companies must be prepared for this change and even, as far as possible, play a leading role so as to minimise the competitive risks involved.

Castellet Castle, the headquarters of the Abertis Foundation and the UNESCO Centre for Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves, is organising a children’s drawing competition to boost their knowledge on the environment.
