Following on from its activities in Spain and France, the Abertis Foundation has now taken its awareness campaign, encouraging young people to drive responsibly in their leisure time, to Chile.

Abertis Autopistas Chile and the Abertis Foundation, in collaboration with CONASET (National Road Safety Commission of the Chilean Ministry of Transport), the Carabineros de Chile (the Chilean national police force), and the Fundación Corre Conmigo (Run with Me Foundation), has undertaken its first awareness campaign for young people to a popular nightlife area in Santiago, Chile.

• The new Abertis Brazil Academic Chair has launched the first edition of the Abertis-USP Academic Chair Prizes.  Uptake has been impressive, with a total of 32 theses presented.

• The Abertis Foundation, with the support of monitors from Institut Guttmann in Barcelona and the Spanish Red Cross, has rolled out a campaign to champion responsible driving over the course of the Superprestigio Dirt Track racing event in Barcelona, the aim being to alert young people to the dangers of driving under the effects of alcohol or drugs and losing concentration while at the wheel.

• The UNESCO International Centre for Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves, based in Castellet Castle, headquarters of the Abertis Foundation, is hosting the XVI Meeting of the MAB Committees Network and Biosphere Reserves of Latin America and the Caribbean, which runs from 21 to 23 October 2015.

Autopistas del Sol’s road safety education programme organises road safety guided tours for schools in its catchment area to promote road safety education and prevention by handing out leaflets featuring handy road awareness tips.
