The International Centre for the Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves (UNESCOMED), with the financial support of Fundación Abertis, has launched a travel support initiative to enable young people from Biosphere Reserves that are members of the MedMAB Network to participate in the 3rd Global MAB Youth Forum 2026 (MYF 2026), organized within the framework of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme.
Through this initiative, 7 young participants from MedMAB Biosphere Reserves will receive financial support to help cover their travel to the MYF 2026. The objective of this support is to strengthen youth engagement within the MedMAB Network and to ensure that participation in the MYF 2026 generates a tangible impact at the Biosphere Reserve level.
Applicants must be:
The selection process will consider the applicant’s current involvement in their Biosphere Reserve, the relevance and potential impact of the contribution they intend to present at the MYF 2026, and how their participation could benefit their Biosphere Reserve and the whole MedMAB after the event. In addition, balanced representation across MedMAB countries and gender equity will be considered.
The call for applications is open until 16 March 2026 at 23:45h CET. Selected candidates will be notified no later than 19 March 2026 and will receive a support letter from the UNESCOMED Centre and the MedMAB Network to include in their official application to participate in the MYF 2026.
It is important to note that receiving support from the UNESCOMED Centre does not guarantee automatic acceptance to the MYF 2026, as final participation will depend on the official selection process conducted by UNESCO.
