The abertis foundation is one of the main sponsors of the major Dalí retrospective that will open this Saturday at the Reina Sofía in Madrid. The exhibition is entitled Dalí. All of the poetic suggestions and all of the plastic possibilities.

The artwork arrived from the Pompidou Centre in Paris, where it had been since last November in an exposition also sponsored by abertis, and will be on display in Madrid until 2 September 2013.

This retrospective presents a unique opportunity to reflect on the work of Salvador Dalí, as for the first time it brings together pieces from the three trustees of his legacy – the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation (Figueres), the Salvador Dalí Museum (St. Petersburg, Florida) and the Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid) – to offer the public the best of their collections.

The retrospective is made even more exceptional thanks to the addition of pieces lent from other first-class institutions, including the MoMA (New York), the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Tate Modern (London) and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (Brussels).

This collaboration further demonstrates the commitment of abertis and the abertis foundation to culture, as, together with the public authorities and the most important cultural institutions in the countries where the Group is present, they strive to make culture accessible to the general public.
