Today saw the signing of a sponsorship agreement between acesa and abertis and Teià Municipal Council to a value of 45,000 for the first stages of the archaeological work on the remains at Vallmora (Teià), which consist in the re-excavation and delimitation of structures (readied) the provisional enclosure of the site (under way) and the covering of the remains (awaiting execution). This financial contribution, made effective today, will allow for the definitive covering of the ancient wine estates remains, compatible with the partial architectural restoration of the 1st-century AD pressing rooms.
The signatories to the agreement were: Lluís Serra i Serra, acesa Managing Director, Salvador Alemany i Mas, Chairman of the abertis foundation and Andreu Bosch i Rodoreda, Mayor of Teià.
This sponsorship is the most important provided these first stages of the CELLA VINARIA interpretation centre project, with an initial budget of 73,000, which also includes contributions from Alella Vinícola Can Jonc, Caixa Laietana and Javier de Godó.
As regards acesas involvement, Teià Municipal Council will also request from the company an exit with a revolving door for users of the C-32 motorway at the rest area which lies alongside the torrent de Vallmora, a stones throw from the site, and will request from the Directorate-General of Cultural Heritage a tourism/culture sign reading: “CELLER ROMÀ (ROMAN WINE CELLAR) / A Teià”, at the Alella toll exit, alongside those announcing “CELLER MODERNISTA (MODERNISTA WINE CELLAR)/ A Alella” and “MUSEU DE NÀUTICA (NAUTICAL MUSEUM)/ Al Masnou”.
